I am in the middle of writing my short story for shortstoryathon. Betwixt and between many distractions and the innate way my mind refuses to let words flow on the page, my story is nowhere ready to be published for public consumption. I continually stare at the computer screen and most of the time the cursor blinks at me. Ideas swirl like soft serve ice cream in my head, but putting the concepts into the written word eludes me quite often. It was been told to me that penning my thoughts places me "out of my comfort zone." If this is true, then why do I keep writing?

Click. “This is the Captain speaking. We will be making our final decent into O’Hare at this time. We hope to have you on the ground in half an hour where the local time is 6:30 pm and the current temperature is a toasty 15 degrees below zero Fahrenheit. Ha Ha Ha! Just a wee bit of humor from the flight deck.” Click.
Dear Lord! I thought desperately. Will this flight from hell ever end?
I'm angry and I can't hold it in any longer. The more I think about it vile thoughts run amok in my mind. There is so much that needs to be done and I can't do it alone with a junior mint in tow. I have no life, no friends, no family, and no aide when I need assistance. The only places I enjoy taking junior mint are probably infested with some sort of news-worthy, infectious disease that will cause even more worry and concern. I am not enjoying life at all and extreme guilt lays on my mind like a blanket of Irish wool. Stifling any happy thoughts that might remain. What's the solution? I haven't a clue. Will it end anytime soon. I doubt it. Is it my fault? No comment
The first day of spring and the temperature was already at 80° F at 11 in the morning. Chiara pushed a lock of mahogany hair from her warm brown eyes and looked up from her fashion magazine across the freshly cut lawn to the obtrusive Chemistry Library where she should have been studying for her physical chemistry mid-term exam, which was two days away on Friday. “Excuse me, Can I have one of those?”
Mostly I have 140 characters to write about on Twitter. This limit usually is enough to get across what I have to say. There are times when I need a few more characters to express my feelings. It then takes quick, deft editing to achieve the magic number of 140 characters. Today really isn't one of those days that I needed freedom from restrictions, but my blog was feeling neglected. So, I decided to write this very boring and mundane post.
